Take a look at some of Dallas’s deadliest days:
Western Transfer Company, 7 dead
Aug. 9, 1982: John F. Parish, 42, walked into the Western Transfer Company building and shot his supervisor, Eddie Eugene Urlich, 40, and truck drivers Martin Douglas Moran, 30, and Moody Charles Smith, 58. He then went to two other facilities and fatally shot Wyvonne Kohler, 45, Dave Bahl and Rick Svoboda, and wounded four more people before dying in a shootout with police.
Police had said Parish had a pay dispute with the company.
Ianni’s Restaurant and Club, 6 dead
June 29, 1984: Abdelkrim Belachheb walked into Ianni’s Restaurant and Club in Dallas armed with a handgun and killed Linda Lowe, Marcell Ford, Ligia Kozlowski, Janice Arbuckle Smith, Joe Minasi and Frank Rance Parker.
John McNeill, the sole survivor, was shot in the back and ran for help.
Belachheb, now 72, remains imprisoned in Amarillo on six consecutive life sentences. The case helped stir the debate over why mass and serial murders did not qualify for the death penalty under Texas law.
Wedgwood Baptist Church, 8 dead
